Mama Cloth at Ladybug Creations: GIVEAWAY!!

I have a thrilling announcement to make, and those of you who are huge fans of cloth menstrual pads and also have heavy periods will understand my excitement. I have FINALLY found a great OVERNIGHT cloth pad that really does work!!!

I have been using cloth menstrual pads (often in combination with the Diva Cup, which I will be posting on in the near future) since after my first child was born 5 1/2 years ago. I credit my use of them to be the main reason my cycles changed...for the better.

**If you are sensitive to "TMI"- too much information- or are a male, you may want to stop reading now! Just sayin'!**

Since the beginning of time (or rather, my first period), I spent about 7 days each with mostly heavy bleeding. Combined with horrible cramps, it kept me from enjoying life for an entire week out of every month. I was in pain and always worried about leaking through my pants. I was extremely self-conscious. I hated participating in my sports during that time. I couldn't concentrate in school. I didn't sleep well because I had gone through too many experiences of waking up in blood! It was miserable.

Since switching to cloth, my periods have lessened in flow and length, as well as cramps. The fact that I can even USE a cloth pad with a mess is a huge testament to the change I've experienced! (having gone from primarily wearing disposable overnight pads, sometimes even in combination with super tampons, even throughout the day!) I scoured Etsy and Hyena Cart to find some great WAHM-made pads and they've been working great ever since.

However, I never used them at nighttime. Even the longest, most absorbent cloth pads I owned couldn't make the cut for nighttime use. So I kept on using disposable pads at bedtime, while also sleeping on top of a blanket or towel, just in case. (yeah, I'm tellin' ya, those younger years traumatized me!)

I recently needed to add a few more to my stash, so I was once again shopping around on Etsy, when I came across Ladybug Creations. I found some super cute pads for daytime use, but I also stumbled across her 15" heavy/overnight pads. How perfect they looked, shaped to provide the right coverage, and absorbent enough for even me!! Seeing these prompted my curiosity, so I spent some time (too much time!) searching sites and stores for other overnight pads, trying to find one that looked the best for me to order. But all that searching led me to realize that there were no pads out there that compared to those at Ladybug Creations in length and shape. Not to mention her price for what I was getting, including shipping, couldn't be beat! So I placed my order with her!!

Now that I've actually owned the pad myself, I am so excited to announce that IT'S THE ONE!! The one I've been waiting for all these years! ;) I can wear it comfortably overnight and actually get sleep, because it's long enough and absorbent enough to work all night long without leaks! It's so well made and has a very professional look to it (with the layered appearance). I also look forward to being able to use this pad postpartum after our next baby (Lord willing!) because of how well it works. I am so pleased with it! But not only that, I'm DOUBLE excited because Ladybug Creations has graciously offered a 15" Heavy/Overnight Pad to one of my readers, so YOU can try one out too!!!

To be entered to win the AWESOME 15" cloth menstrual pad pictured above, great for overnight or just a heavy flow, head on over to Ladybug Creations and check out her shop! Then come back here and leave a comment, telling me which product is your favorite and if there are any new items you'd like to see! ***THIS IS REQUIRED***

My experience with cloth pads has been great. I've been using them for almost 3 years now and don't look back. They are superior in comfort and, like you, have lessened the cramping and length of my flow. I'm definitely looking for new ones to try though.

I love my cloth menstrual pads but I don't have overnight/postpartum pads. I would love to try one.

I've had a great experience with cloth menstrual pads so far. It seemed like the next logical step after using cloth diapers. It is definitely more comfortable and I love not wasting money and producing garbage every month.

Laundry Lady said...

Definitely like the Pink 15 inch pad. I don't think I've seen a cloth pad that long before. Looks like it might actually work for heavy flow overnight.

I haven't used cloth menstrual pads yet but would really like to try them after our 3rd little one arrives in September! This seems like the perfect pad for postpartum.

Wow. Great selection! I'd like to see the pads made specifically to be worn with thongs. <>

I've only had 2 light cycles since my son was born 20 months ago, but I did use cloth and I really like it. My LLL leaders told me using cloth has affected the severity of their symptoms, too (for the better.) Disposable just seems so yucky to me now!

I actually only recently started using cloth pads. So far I love them! I feel better about using them, and more responsible because I'm not adding to a landfill somewhere. I will say that I still use a cup with them, especially if I'm going to be out of the house...just in case. But overall I'm very happy with them, and really want to buy a couple more so I can use them throughout my whole period.

Thanks!
