Tropical Traditions Coconut Oil Review & GIVEAWAY!!

If you've been a reader of Joy Filled Living for any amount of time then you likely know what a HUGE fan I am of coconut oil (and all it's great uses). I am always on the lookout for different brands of oils to find the one I love, and so I was very excited to get the opportunity to review Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil, as it was on my list to try!!

Just arrived!!

There are two favorite things I love to cook with coconut oil- chicken and eggs. No, not together! But I find coconut oil works very well to coat my pan so the eggs don't stick all over it, and I also just love cooking cubed chicken in it. Just feels so healthy to me!! Coconut oil is a "good" fat, and the lauric acid is very beneficial to the immune system, and so I enjoy incorporating it into our diet in any way that I can. (I also used it in our favorite whole wheat strawberry shortcake as our Fourth of July dessert and it was wonderful!!)

I was very pleased with Tropical Traditions Virgin Coconut Oil! The 32 oz jar will last me quite some time (despite regular use). Can I also say that I LOVE that it's in GLASS and not plastic?!!

I have found that some coconut oils leave a very strong taste in the food, but I didn't encounter that this time. It did have a strong coconut scent (another thing I've found to vary between types and brands), though, which is one thing that might keep me from using it as a skin moisturizer. (love coconut oil on my skin, just don't love smelling like a coconut all day!)

Tropical Traditions Coconut Oil is unrefined, which is HUGE in my book. It is also cold-processed (good!!), contains no trans-fatty acids (unlike non-virgin oils, which is hydrogenated...yuck!!), and is USDA certified organic!
