"A refreshing way to experience God's story; a trusted way to apply it to your life."
It has only been over the past two years that I've learned to love (and prefer) chronological Bibles. I have yet to master navigating them, however. One thing I've learned is that having an actual STUDY Bible in chronological form is easier for me to follow than one without the study features. For so many years I familiarized myself with the order in which a "regular" Bible lists the books/chapters/verses. So re-learning all of that in chronological order with the CLASB has been helpful as I can reference notes (and maps!) that help blend what used to be completely seperate peices and parts to me.
One of my favorite features of the CLASB is the timeline at the top of each page. It has tabs for 10 different periods of time/events in the Bible, with the current one (depending on the page) being highlighted. This has been a great help to me in just peicing together what I read/study, as I'm a visual learner.
This Bible really just feels "complete" to me. Of course the Bible itself is the complete Word of God. But as someone who wants to delve into it and absorb every bit I possibly can, the CLASB doesn't leave me feeling like I need to have all my reference books out with me while I study. I have to admit, as a busy mom, that is appealing...unfortunately I'm far less likely to take the time to study if I feel it's going to be a huge time and space consuming project.
I have decided to use the CLASB as our family Bible (as well as our "child training Bible") because I love the timeline, cross-references, and study notes/extras as a way of really digging deep when we want to discover something new as a family or reference a well-known story or verse. I also find that my children tend to grasp the NLT better than other translations.
I have many Bibles (love them!) but this is definitely my new "go-to." Thank you Tyndale for this opportunity, and for offering up another great Bible!
**I received a free copy of this Bible to review, courtesy of Tyndale House Publishers. My opinions are all my own...I may be a people pleaser, but I'm also a control freak, and prefer to use my blogspace for making my thoughts known, not stealing the ideas of others. ;)
